The Democratic Party of Wisconsin has booked a high-profile guest for its Halloween fundraiser: Frank N. Furter. Scheduled for Oct. 31 at 9 p.m. CST, Wisconsin Dems will be hosting the Rocky Horror Show Livestream in honor of the 1975 cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It’s described as a musical event with appearances from original cast members Tim Curry, Barry Bostwick and Nell Campbell, along with Connie Britton, Wilmer Valderrama, Lance Bass, Rosario Dawson, Jason George, Seth Green, Jason Alexander and David Arquette.
Per a press release, there will be performances by the Dresden Dolls, Miss Peppermint, Eiza Gonzalez, Josh Gad, Ben Barnes, Jenna Ushkowitz, Rachel Bloom, Karen Olivo, Marissa Jaret Winokur, Madison Uphoff, Kalen Chase and Rumer Willis. Donations will be funneled to the Wisconsin Democrats to help fuel a Joe Biden, Kamala Harris victory, per party chair Ben Wikler.
“Rocky Horror has been changing lives for decades, and now, with this reunion on Halloween Night to supercharge Wisconsin Democrats in the final stretch, it’s going to change the world again,” said Wikler. “In the final sprint of this election, we don’t need a time warp. “Curry has not made many public appearances since suffering a stroke in 2012 at the age of 66.
He did, however, attend the premiere of The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let’s Do the Time Warp Again in West Hollywood in 2016. He also attended GalaxyCon Raleigh in North Carolina in 2019. The Halloween event will follow a growing list of Wisconsin Dems-hosted virtual movie and TV reunions of late, including with the casts of West Wing, Princess Bride, Veep and Superbad.
