Jennifer Lopez is starting out 2021 with a clean slate and a fresh face. On Sunday (Jan. 3), the superstar celebrated the launch of her new skincare brand, JLO Beauty, by sharing a barefaced makeup removal video on social media.
Fresh off her headlining performance during Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve in Times Square, the singer took off all her makeup to promote the brand’s #WashAway2020 launch campaign. “Happy New Year, you guys! Are you guys ready to wash away 2020?” she asked in the clip. I’m ready; I’m in my robe. I still have all my stage makeup on. As you can see, it’s a lot of makeup. And I’m ready to wash it off.”
From there, Lopez took off her stage face using a trio of her own products — That Hit Single cleanser, That JLO Serum and That Blockbuster Wonder Cream — while sharing her relief at the prospect of leaving the difficult year behind. “We’re done! Yes! Lord Jesus, thank you God we made it through,” she remarked while scrubbing her face.
In the video’s caption, J.Lo also shared her excitement at finally unveiling the long-awaited beauty line to her fans, writing, “I cannot believe that @jlobeauty is available now. It’s been years in the making and it’s finally here. We’ve spent hundreds of rounds of testing products and formulations … all to make sure we created the perfect products for YOU to get THAT GLOW!!! I am so proud of what we came up with and I know you’re going to love it. We’re JUST GETTING STARTED!!!!”
During her New Year’s Eve set, the singer performed her latest single “In the Morning,” as well as a medley of past hits including 2012’s “Dance Again,” 1999’s “Waiting for Tonight” and a cover of Aerosmith’s “Dream On.”
