Chris Evans Has the Best Response to Lizzo’s Drunk DM

Lizzo was feeling bold as hell to shoot her shot by sliding into Chris Evans’ DMs while drunk, and Captain America is here to save her from being left on read.

On Saturday (April 17), Lizzo advised her TikTok followers “don’t drink and DM, kids” after revealing she did exactly that with Evans on Instagram, when she sent a series of emojis — wind, female athlete and a basketball — indicating she had apparently tried “shooting her shot” at exactly 5:22 p.m. She explained the situation by mouthing the voiceover audio, “The reason I’m upset about this one is because I know I’m not going to be able to marry him. And honestly, it hurts me to the core, because da–, papa, he a rare breed! No comparing!”

At the time, the two stars did not follow each other on the social media platform. But later on Sunday (April 18), the “Truth Hurts” singer sent a pleasant update that meant he must’ve watched her previous TikTok video.

In a new TikTok video, the Grammy-winning artist shared a duet that contrasted her old clip with a new one that revealed The Avengers actor not only followed her on Instagram, but also responded to her. “No shame in a drunk DM,” he shot back at 2:06 p.m. with a kissy face emoji. “God knows I’ve done worse on this app.”

He didn’t leave her hanging on Twitter, either. In 2019, Evans retweeted Lizzo’s adorable video of a little girl showing off some impressive dance moves to her hit “Juice,” writing, “This kid is cooler than I could ever hope to be.” That’s where she slid in his replies with a cool and casual proposal: “Wow marry me.”
