Polo G Crowns Streaming Songs Chart With Biggest Week For a Male Artist Since Last August

Polo G’s “Rapstar” boasts the biggest streaming week for a song by a male artist in eight months, soaring in atop Billboard’s Streaming Songs chart dated April 24.

The song, released April 9, starts with 53.6 million U.S. streams in the week ending April 15, according to MRC Data. That’s the largest single-week stream count for a song by a male act since Drake’s “Laugh Now Cry Later,” featuring Lil Durk, launched with 69.8 million on the Aug. 29, 2020-dated chart.

Among 2021 releases, only one song has scored more weekly streams than “Rapstar”: Olivia Rodrigo’s juggernaut “Drivers License” began with 76.1 million in its debut week (Jan. 23) and logged 59.7 million in its second frame (Jan. 30).
